Each month we’ll open the door to our office and introduce you to a member of our superb team.
This month it’s Digital Project Manager Iain Thomson.
Here Iain talks about how he achieves results, what motivates him and importantly, what he does to ensure projects are delivered on time.
Iain: “At Clock we have an excellent digital team that has expanded over the past 12 months. As a result of this our ability to deliver a wide range of digital projects has grown.
As a Digital Project Manager I am always learning through discussion, support and guidance of my team. It’s all about matching their skills and knowledge to the demands and timescales of the client(s).
The workload is usually high and intense and I regularly leave the office amazed by their ability to come up with multiple ways of solving problems.
Our creative and technical teams work closely but ultimately it’s me who is responsible for the project(s) we deliver. I find that the best way to achieve this is to develop relationships and work transparently both with the staff at Clock and the client.
The trust within the team and honesty in how we operate means we rarely panic. The early planning is important and we certainly don’t underestimate our workload. Because of this when I am talking to our clients they can sense that what I am telling them is correct, which gives me a strong negotiating edge, should I need it.
Discussing the details of a new project with the client in initial meetings is also fascinating. Timings, deliverables and costs, have already been well thought through by members of the team and then agreed with all parties, so that we are all completely aware of what the project requires and when it will be delivered.
By conducting the initial fact finding process with the client they gain confidence in our process and feel reassured that they have made the right decision by choosing to work with Clock.”
Next month: Senior UX Designer Dan Collings
